But between limited square footage and open floor plans that put dirty dishes on display, the modern New York City apartment is not always conducive to hosting a holiday meal. Developers have come to recognize this and, in response, incorporated private dining rooms into their amenity packages. Some diners opt to literally leave the mess behind and bring their homemade food to the dining room, while others make the most of the catering kitchen that often accompanies this space.

Below, we look at a selection of new development condos that include private dining rooms among their amenities. It should be noted that reservations are required to keep the party private and may be even harder to get than at some of the city’s most popular restaurants, thanks to these dining rooms’ high-end finishes, intimate atmosphere, and sheer convenience. As such, we also present a selection of availabilities in the buildings with layouts well suited for hosting dinner parties.

Closings are expected to commence at The Henry, a Robert A.M. Stern Architects-designed condominium on the Upper West Side, later this winter. The design pays tribute to prewar architecture, but amenities like a private dining room with catering kitchen were conceived to accommodate the modern buyer.
